How the Queen will be Chosen

Judging takes place in three areas:

  • 30 points for interview
  • 30 points for casual wear
  • 40 points for evening gown

Comparative judging will be held in groups determined by the number of girls in contest.

    Arrival

    Fairgrounds and Convention Center

Arrive no earlier than 30 minutes before interview.  Contestants will be allowed entry free of charge.  Enter through the Morton Avenue Gate.  Please park in normal fair parking outside the gate, not around the building or inside the gate areas.  The fair officials ask for you to not drive into the fairgrounds, not even for loading/unloading.

Interview time depends on contestant number and could begin as early as 3:00 pm on Friday, July 28, 2023.  Interviews are closed and will be held in the Midway Building. Holding will be in the dressing room until contestant number is called.  Interviews are 3 minutes in length in front of a panel of three judges.  Times will be announced during 2nd practice.

Contestant will wear berry heather colored shirt (provided, cost $15) for interview and opening.

Due to lack of space and proper distancing in the dressing room, one person only will be allowed with the contestant.  Please arrive with outfit on and ready to go.

Only contestants and fair officials are allowed behind the stage in the Midway Building at any time.

Please have your contestant in the dressing room no later than 6:30 pm before pageant starts.

Stage Appearances –  Pageant (7:00 pm)

At 6:55 pm contestants will line up in numerical order at the back of the stage.
